Professional Experience
Qodo | Principal Architect | Current role
Architects enterprise AI systems with attention to governed agent orchestration, reliability, security, and measurable outcomes. Communicates architecture and engineering practice through technical writing, conference talks, and hands-on workshops on MCP, agent interoperability, AI-assisted code review, and test-driven development.
Lexipol | Principal Software Developer | June 2020 to 2024
Reassessed a delayed rewrite of the flagship product and the integration of acquired products and teams. Presented architecture findings and a revised approach to the executive team and board, which adopted the recommendation.
Led implementation of the new approach, established an engineering team and development practices, and guided delivery on AWS using container, serverless, messaging, and data services.
USAA | Lead Software Developer | January to June 2020
Filled a technical leadership gap, established engineering governance, and coordinated microservice dependencies across teams. Helped define service contracts and internal service-level expectations for a replacement design.
First Aware | Principal Software Developer | March to October 2019
Designed an Azure-based safe-building platform that ingested events from web endpoints, MQTT, message brokers, and CoAP. Built a rules-based inference and notification flow, and prototyped a connected exit-sign device.
Mutualink | Principal Software Engineer | September 2015 to February 2019
Led a reusable Java component shared by Android, JavaFX, and Spring Boot applications, supporting faster redesign across three products and meeting public-safety security and usability requirements. Mentored engineers through pairing, design reviews, and technical sessions.
Designed a cloud service layer around a legacy edge application, creating a path for third-party integrations and new service offerings.
Earlier experience | OleMedia, Accenture, and prior roles
At OleMedia, designed an Android-based mobile TV platform and its client-server integrations. At Accenture, contributed to architecture, performance, accessibility, engineering governance, and delivery for HealthCare.gov and Covered California.
